The soft-surface field is circled by a stone wall that soars upward toward the mountains. The giant golden sculpture that graces the mountain side of the field represents a pair of hands poised in a gesture of blessing for abundance. To do tai chi, to dance—to practice any moving meditation here under the open desert sky—is to sense that blessing and to feel an exultant sense of wonder and grace.
